Death to ugly creatures! Rage in dwarf's heart, Fear in monster's! It just a fraction of second before his final stroke. It is pretty simple concept, but very difficult to show effectively. I enjoyed the process a lot - all the way from line sketch to painting. Those strange seaweed coming from the monster si his defence that stings like a jellyfish. Sometimes leaving out the background and details really helps to create mood - that's very important lesson for me from this paining.

Interesting choice that the dwarf is noit looking at his target as if beserking. I'm not certain I like that choice, but nontheless it s a great picture with a lot of action and lines to draw the eye.
