Norse Columbus by artozi Norse Columbus by artozi

- click the link for the explanation of the theme.

Christopher Columbus (in norse style) is looking for the end of the world.

Please throw all ideas at me, this is for a contest at The Gnomon Workshop. I've already tried couple of times, doing the best as I could, but still no luck. Maybe one day:)

All critiques most welcome!

Best,
Mateusz

So Bjarni Herjólfsson understated the difficulties of his voyage?

Pretty dang awesome. But this looks almost more like a Norse version of Sinbad than Columbus.

This is absolutely amazing. I really love the background and the bleak yet beautiful look it has. And it really gives the Midgard serpent a sense of scale to it- you can take in the sheer size of it and it makes it terrifying, which isn't something I'd say about a work of art too often.
Absolutely stunning work!
